How do you humanely and safely remove a bee from your house? Thanks to @theupbeetgardener for her great tips, my visiting bumblebee was able to fly off into the sunset and bee happy🩷

Quick recap:
Today, I walked into the kitchen to hear buzzing that was either a lawn mower or a BEE! Upon further investigation, a chunky, little bumblebee was stuck on my skylight, trying to get back home.

At first, I tried many stunts to open the skylight, standing on multiple stools, and getting one step closer to an emergency room visit.

Then, I tried using an area fan to inspire the bee to fly with the wind, out the back door. Another unsuccessful attempt.

So I looked online and found The UpBeet Gardener’s YouTube video on how to coax a bee friend back outside.

1. Find a fragrant flower in your yard. I used dandelions! (I’m one of those who loves these golden beauties!)

2. Stick them in the bristles of a raggedy, old broom.

3. Lift the blooming broom up to the bee, give them time to land and laze, then slowly lower down to release outside.

Pro Tip: Have a door or window already open so they can immediately fly free!

🐝 I wish I had the bee on camera sitting in the sunshiny dandelion, but I feared a great fall. Don’t need that right now!

Do you love to stay home and ponder, piddle, and squirrel out? It’s my favorite hobby, for sure.
