If you were wondering…YES, there IS a zero-waste makeup brand for you! This is my Part Two plastic-free summary of my new favorite makeup: Axiology.
Zero-waste makeup is my new obsession and, because you’re here, I know you’re interested, too!
I’ll go down a rabbit hole for days to find the perfect dress, lamp, dishwasher, paint color, picture frame, garden hose, and, of course, makeup. This is after I ponder and reflect on every choice for months before that.
Overthinking is my gift.
And speaking of rabbits, I’ve been seeking out cruelty-free products for many years now because bunnies don’t belong in science labs, y’all. They belong in my yard eating all my hostas!
This post is all about Axiology, a zero-waste brand of dab-on-and-go makeup sticks and color creams.

Thankfully, it’s now a whole lot easier to find makeup that doesn’t test on animals.
Though, it’s still more of a challenge to find packaging that isn’t plastic. But NOT impossible!
And honestly, there are more earth-friendly and earth-aware brands out there than most of us notice. They’re not all mainstream, so it’s a matter of seeking them out!
Recently, I shared my new favorite zero-waste, cruelty-free, vegan makeup. The brand is Axiology and they pretty much check all the boxes for people who are concerned about the environment and animals.
And why do we love thee, Axiology? Here are a few reasons:
Best Zero-Waste Makeup Brand
Plastic-Free Axiology Balmies, Multi-Sticks & Tinted Dews
Okay, a key factor that lures the lazy, pajama-pants-wearing, work-at-home writer in me is that one makeup stick can be used pretty much all over your face: on lips, eyelids, and cheeks! That’s like a three-in-one deal that helps those of us who struggle with a makeup routine.
And, oh, do I struggle.
Also, here are all of the fabulous reasons listed below:
- Recyclable and compostable
- Plastic-free packaging
- Tubes are FSC Certified paper made from converted island trash
- Does NOT test on animals
- 100% Vegan
- Natural ingredients
- Handmade in the United States
- Versatile makeup sticks for eyes, lips, and cheeks!
- Doesn’t require makeup brushes or applicators
- Application is easy and smooth
- Company donates to animal welfare organizations
- Founded by an awesome woman who loves animals and the environment!

Makeup Sticks I’ve Tried So Far
In my previous post, I tried Axiology’s Vegan Balms and Multi-Stick Color Cream. I REALLY enjoyed them. And I’m not only saying that because the Axiology beauties are nice people. I’m also saying it because the product is PRETTY DARN GREAT.
- Vegan Balm in Peppermint
- Vegan Balm in Unscented
- Multi-Stick Color Cream in Grounded
- Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in Infinite
- Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in The Goodness
- The Original Zero Waste Multi-Use Crayon in Strawberry + Cherry
Makeup Sticks I’m Yakking About Today
Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in “INfinite”
I DEW love this one! (I had no other choice but to share a pun because if I go more than 24 hours without a pun, I’m quite sad!)
The Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in Infinite is smooth and light. If you like more of a subtle, natural lip color, I’d recommend this for you!
It’s kind of a cute-while-running-errands look versus the bolder Multi-Stick Color Creams that are more of a sassy-while-strutting-across-town-with-the-bestie look.
Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in “The Goodness”
The Multi-Stick Tinted Dew in The Goodness is also a soft, barely-there look. It has a slight shimmer and gives you that quick glow on-the-go.
This is a color I can put on without my glasses or in a dark theater or probably asleep and not look like the Joker when I finally peek into a mirror. Which means you can’t mess this one up. It’s pretty foolproof like that!
The original zero waste multi-use crayon in “strawberry + cherry”
These are so fun! It’s like going back to elementary school with your cute, little crayons on the table, but now they’re the cute, little crayons in your cosmetic bag.
I applied the Vegan Balm to my lips before adding the Multi-Use Crayon and it all worked pretty seamlessly.
This product is easy to dot on and then tap and blend in with your fingers. Brushes aren’t required, but I imagine would work beautifully if you’re a brush girl or guy.
I also think if you have tweens or teens who like makeup, these are super compact for smaller hands. They’re also easy to toss in a backpack or purse without taking up hardly any room.
AND Balmies are cased in reusable slide boxes that comfortably fit in coat pockets, leggings pockets, and those hidden pockets on your favorite twirly dress!

How a Gen X Meat & Potatoes Renaissance Man Feels About Vegan Zero-Waste Balm
My resident Renaissance man stopped playing guitar to try Axiology’s Vegan Balm in Peppermint. This is notable!
When I first asked him his thoughts, he said, “It’s good. I like it.”
I then said, “Could you possibly expand on that a little?”
He replied. “It’s creamy. Yeah. It makes my lips feel nice.”
This is coming from a guy who loves BBQ, plays heavy metal, and refuses to say his blush golf shirt is BLUSH. It’s coral, allegedly.
But he’ll wear Axiology!
The lip balms don’t have a tint, so for those folks who don’t want a color, it can be their thing, too!
Zero-Waste Makeup Brand Wrap-Up
If you’re tired of throwing plastic makeup containers in the trash or don’t have a lot of time to find a recycling drop-off location, I think you’ll love Axiology’s makeup. It’s made by smart women who love our amazing planet and the sweet fur friends who hop into our lives.
Let me know in the comments if you try it!
